How the Foundation works
What is the Foundation?
The Foundation is a body, separately incorporated from the School, whose work is to support Prep in its aspirations to be the first-class provider of primary day and boarding education for girls and boys. Its board is made up of parents and past students who work to assist the school in meeting its mission.
Who runs the Foundation?
The work of the Foundation is conducted by a Board of Management. Under the Constitution of the Foundation, there are seats for Members, Fellows and Governors and the Head of School is an ex-officio member of the Board of Management.

How do I become a member of the Foundation?
Membership of the Foundation is upon receipt of $2000 which can be spread over a period of four years. All donations to the Foundation are cumulative, i.e. a parent who donates to the Prep Fund for example might find that after one, two or three years that they have become a member of the Foundation.
Why should we give? - The School already receives fees from parents.
The fee structure of Prep is such that almost all of the fees are fully used every year on salaries, educational materials and upkeep of ovals and other aspects of Prep. Any surplus is used for programmed work. In order to keep up with modern education, the school requires the assistance of the Foundation to ensure that it is at the forefront of curriculum initiatives.
What is the relationship between the School and the Foundation and how does it work?

At least once a year, the members of the School Council and the Foundation’s Board of Management meet to share insights and to hear from the Chairs of both bodies on the goals reached and the developments to be undertaken. This voluntary commitment from members of the Foundation Board plays a vital role in ensuring the school has a very bright future indeed.
Who is the Prep Fund Committee and what do they do?
The Prep Fund Committee is a sub-committee of the Foundation. Each year, the Prep Fund Committee seeks support from parents, past students, and friends of Prep to fund projects in conjunction with the School on an annual basis. Some members of the Prep Fund Committee also sit on the Foundation Board of Management.
